Neon Trees’ Frontman Tyler Glenn Gets Personal on All Heart with Paul Cardall
Neon Trees’ lead singer and keyboardist, Tyler Glenn, sat down with host Paul Cardall on the latest episode of All Heart with Paul Cardall. Tyler opens up about coming out in 2014 in Rolling Stone and how his faith has evolved as a former member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
“In 2014, I came out. We had put a record out called Pop Psychology. It was our third album as Neon Trees. I had written the record and I knew what I was sneaking in, like the messages into the pop songs. I love that record, but it didn’t speak to what I was really feeling…so I came out in Rolling Stone, they did a feature and it was amazing,” says Tyler Glenn. Listen to the full episode available on the American Songwriter Podcast Network.
Together, Tyler and Paul dive into everything from Provo, Utah’s music scene, to the creation of the LOVELOUD Festival with Imagine Dragon’s lead singer, Dan Reynolds, and Tyler’s time in Kinky Boots on Broadway. They get to the heart of what it’s like to live an honest and faithful life in the spotlight.
